Diva

DIVA

Our little girl visited her Granny's for the first time this summer Memorial Day Weekend. My sister's family, John's brothers and parents were all there for the joyous occasion. Andrew and Ayden had a blast playing in the water and riding and driving the boat. Andrew even made me and Kari look like whimps when he jumped off the 11 ft boat house without his life jacket. Pretty impressive for a 7 year old.

We always enjoy going to the lake to spend time with family and friends.

Tonight we took Reese to the pool in our neighborhood for the first time. We forgot the camera but she was the star of the pool. She had on her white hat, sunglasses and swimsuit. She was a little apprehensive about the water at first but then she just hung out while her daddy toted her around. When it was Mommy's turn Reese cuddled up to my shoulder and fell asleep. It was the BEST feeling in the world having her just pass out on me.

I am going to try and be a better blogger... so we'll see how this pans out! Here are some other pics to enjoy.

Andrew and Ayden came over to play Saturday night and had a great time doting over Reese. Hunter, Matthew, Heather and Darren came over too for dinner and playtime. It was nice having the house full of people and laughter. Reese's Nana was here too hanging out while Grandad, Uncle Cole, and Uncle Andy were at the UNC game.

Until Next Time...

Baby Update

Still no baby. We are busily preparing the house for her arrival. We get more and more done every day that she is NOT here. We keep telling her about her new home and her new pretty nursery, but apparently the womb is WAY more fun for her at this point.

Please keep the prayers coming and we'll all get to meet her soon!

Baby Update

We went to our Doctor appointment today hoping for good news. We got some too! I am 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. The doctor did a little stripping of the membranes which thins out the lining between the uterus and the baby's head (which is now thankfully LOCKED in place). The procedure she did will induce contractions and if Reese is ready, she'll be coming out very soon. If not... then I will just have some additional pains to deal with.

They talked about inducing but John and I decided we are not ready to make that choice yet. We want her to come as naturally as possible without any medication to help us out. They will discuss the possibility more with us next Thursday if we make it that far. As long as Reese and I are healthy they will be okay not to force the induction.

John and I are super excited and anxious to meet this little girl. My friend Joan had her baby yesterday and she is so sweet and cuddly. I got to hold her this afternoon and cannot imagine how it is going to feel when it is MY baby I am loving on.

Please continue to pray for us to have a safe and healthy delivery.

We will keep everyone posted on labor and delivery here and on facebook.

Thanks for everyone's kind words, blessings, prayers, and support. We would not be able to do this without such wonderful family and friends.

Make it a great day!

Too Cute Baby Joke, Birthday and Anniversary

Two babies were sitting in their cribs, when one baby shouted to the other, 'Are you a little girl or a little boy?''I don't know,' replied the other baby giggling.

'What do you mean, you don't know?' said the first baby.'I mean I don't know how to tell the difference,' was the reply.

'Well, I do,' said the first baby chuckling, 'I'll climb into your crib and find out.'He carefully maneuvered himself into the other baby's crib, then quickly disappeared beneath the blankets.

After a couple of minutes, he resurfaced with a big grin on his face.'You're a little girl, and I'm a little boy,' he said proudly.

'You're ever so clever,' cooed the baby girl, 'but how can you tell ?' 'It's quite easy really,' replied the baby boy,

'You've got pink socks and I've got blue ones.'
' SHAME ON YOU, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???
John and I are doing well and getting ready for our plant shutdowns so we can be off for a solid week!! We will be putting the finishing touches on our house and nursery and waiting for Reese to arrive. We celebrated our 2 yr anniverary on the 9th and John's birthday the 11th. We had family and friends over the 12th for an evening of pizza and desserts. Saturday we went to an all day birthing class. (830-5). We did bust out at 3pm because I was exhausted and wanted a nap. Luckily we got to practice labor positions and breathing with 12 other couples before we left. :)
John's parents, my parents and me gave John an NCSU autographed collector ball with Phillip Rivers and Mario Williams signature on it. He was SUPER excited and definitely had no clue what was in the big box I had hanging around the house for a month. It was wonderful to see his face. I will post a pic as soon as I get it from Kari.
We hope everyone has a MERRY and HAPPY HOLIDAY!
