We went to our Doctor appointment today hoping for good news. We got some too! I am 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. The doctor did a little stripping of the membranes which thins out the lining between the uterus and the baby's head (which is now thankfully LOCKED in place). The procedure she did will induce contractions and if Reese is ready, she'll be coming out very soon. If not... then I will just have some additional pains to deal with.
They talked about inducing but John and I decided we are not ready to make that choice yet. We want her to come as naturally as possible without any medication to help us out. They will discuss the possibility more with us next Thursday if we make it that far. As long as Reese and I are healthy they will be okay not to force the induction.
John and I are super excited and anxious to meet this little girl. My friend Joan had her baby yesterday and she is so sweet and cuddly. I got to hold her this afternoon and cannot imagine how it is going to feel when it is MY baby I am loving on.
Please continue to pray for us to have a safe and healthy delivery.

Too Cute Baby Joke, Birthday and Anniversary
Two babies were sitting in their cribs, when one baby shouted to the other, 'Are you a little girl or a little boy?''I don't know,' replied the other baby giggling.
'What do you mean, you don't know?' said the first baby.'I mean I don't know how to tell the difference,' was the reply.
'Well, I do,' said the first baby chuckling, 'I'll climb into your crib and find out.'He carefully maneuvered himself into the other baby's crib, then quickly disappeared beneath the blankets.
After a couple of minutes, he resurfaced with a big grin on his face.'You're a little girl, and I'm a little boy,' he said proudly.
'You're ever so clever,' cooed the baby girl, 'but how can you tell ?' 'It's quite easy really,' replied the baby boy,

John and I are doing well and getting ready for our plant shutdowns so we can be off for a solid week!! We will be putting the finishing touches on our house and nursery and waiting for Reese to arrive. We celebrated our 2 yr anniverary on the 9th and John's birthday the 11th. We had family and friends over the 12th for an evening of pizza and desserts. Saturday we went to an all day birthing class. (830-5). We did bust out at 3pm because I was exhausted and wanted a nap. Luckily we got to practice labor positions and breathing with 12 other couples before we left. :)
John's parents, my parents and me gave John an NCSU autographed collector ball with Phillip Rivers and Mario Williams signature on it. He was SUPER excited and definitely had no clue what was in the big box I had hanging around the house for a month. It was wonderful to see his face. I will post a pic as soon as I get it from Kari.
We hope everyone has a MERRY and HAPPY HOLIDAY!

Long time no read...7 weeks and counting
So it has been 4 mths since my last post. I am not a good blogger. Hopefully Reese Lauria Clark will change that when she gets here. We are 7 weeks today away from my Jan 15, 2009 due date. The nursery is coming along VERY well. (will post pictures eventually) Lots of exciting things have happened over the past few months, but most of all John and I have been trying to get ready for baby Reese.
Thank you to all those who have helped get the baby necessities together and for the showers and gifts. We would not know how to handle everything without our family and friends.
We are so blessed and so thankful for everyone in our lives.
These are a few pics from my ISPE Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, FL from October. These are my lovely girls (students) that were holding me up on the surf board. We did not have it turned on because that is not safe. The next pic is the NCSU students flashing their spirit and the last one is us with our Grand Student Chapter Award presented to our region at the meeting. Best Student Chapter in the world. :) I am very proud of all my students!!!
Until next time... which we know could be months...
